TL;DR. LiveChat (now sold under the Text brand) costs $25 per user per month on Essential and $99 on Growth as of October 2026, or $19 and $79 billed yearly. AI is included but capped: 10 AI resolutions a month on Essential, 200 on Growth, then $49.50 per 50. That’s fair for a sales team that staffs chat. It gets expensive for small teams paying per seat, or for anyone who wants AI to answer most chats. Below: LiveChat pricing, who should stay, and seven alternatives with verified prices, including free ones.

We make Feedbot, one of the tools below. We list it first and say plainly when LiveChat or another tool is the better choice.

LiveChat pricing in October 2026

In 2026 LiveChat folded into the Text platform with HelpDesk and ChatBot, and its plans changed. The current plans from LiveChat’s pricing page, as of October 2026:

Plan Monthly billing Yearly billing AI agents AI resolutions included Other limits
Essential $25/user/mo $19/user/mo 1 10 per month 60-day chat history, 50 live visitors tracked, 3 proactive campaigns
Growth $99/user/mo $79/user/mo 10 200 per month Unlimited history, 400 visitors tracked, 30 campaigns, chat supervision
Enterprise Custom Annual agreement Custom Custom White-label widget, SSO, SLAs

Add-ons: an extra 50 AI resolutions for $49.50 (about $0.99 each) and 100,000 extra API calls for $29.50. There is a 14-day free trial with no card, and no free plan.

What’s a resolution? LiveChat counts one when the AI directly solves a customer’s question. Several questions in one chat still count as one.

What LiveChat costs in practice

  • A team of 3 on Growth, monthly: 3 × $99 = $297. That includes 200 AI resolutions.
  • The same team on Essential with AI handling 250 chats a month: Assume half of those chats count as AI resolutions (125), so you need 115 more than the 10 included: 3 packs ($148.50). With $75 in seats, about $224.
  • A solo founder on Essential: $25 a month, but only 10 AI resolutions. If the AI resolves 100 chats, add 2 packs: $124.

The pattern: seats are reasonable, AI beyond the allowance costs about a dollar per resolved chat.

Why people look for a LiveChat alternative

  1. Per-seat pricing. Every person who logs in to answer is a paid seat. Part-time helpers cost the same as full-time agents.
  2. No free plan. After the trial you pay, even for a small site.
  3. Small AI allowance on Essential. 10 AI resolutions a month is a trial amount for most sites.
  4. You want AI first, not chat first. LiveChat is built around human agents with AI help. Teams without someone watching the chat want the opposite.
  5. You need a full helpdesk. Some teams move to Zendesk or Intercom when chat becomes one channel among many.

Who should stay on LiveChat

Stay if chat is a sales channel and you staff it. LiveChat’s strengths are on the revenue side: proactive campaigns, visitor tracking, buying intent detection, a live Shopify catalog and cart recovery in chat. On Growth, 200 AI resolutions a month for the account plus supervision tools make sense for a team of several agents.

LiveChat alternatives compared

Monthly billing, as of October 2026. “Team of 3” assumes about 500 chats a month that AI should try to answer; credit-based tools assume 4 AI replies per chat, per-resolution tools assume half resolve.

Tool Billing model Team of 3, ~500 AI chats Free plan Human live chat Best for
Feedbot (ours) Flat, by conversations $19 (Pro, 1,000 conversations) 50 conversations Takeover from Telegram or inbox AI-first support and lead capture
LiveChat (Text) Per seat + AI resolutions ~$323 (Essential, 3 seats + 5 packs) or ~$347 on Growth No Full Sales-led chat teams
tawk.to Free + add-ons $59 (AI Assist Growth + 1,000 credits) Yes Full Free human live chat
Crisp Per workspace + AI credits $95 to $295 2 seats, no AI Full Shared inbox, many channels
Tidio Plan + Lyro tiers $350+ (Lyro 500 tier) 50 human conversations Full Online stores
Zendesk Per agent + automated resolutions ~$560 (3 Suite Team agents + ~235 resolutions) No, 14-day trial Full Multi-channel helpdesk
Intercom Per seat + $0.99 per outcome ~$335 (3 Essential seats + ~250 outcomes) No, 14-day trial Full Support teams needing workflows
Zoho SalesIQ Per operator $60 (3 Enterprise operators, yearly) 3 operators Full Zoho CRM users

Zendesk’s figure: 3 Suite Team agents at $69 monthly = $207, which includes 15 automated resolutions; the other ~235 at $1.50 committed come to about $353, so roughly $560 in total. Pay-as-you-go resolutions are $2.00 each.

The 7 best LiveChat alternatives

1. Feedbot (ours)

What it is. An AI chatbot for websites and apps that does support, sales and feedback in one conversation. It answers from your site, docs and FAQ in the visitor’s language, asks qualifying questions, shows buttons to buy, start a trial or book a demo, and scores leads from 0 to 100.

Pricing. Free: 50 conversations a month (knowledge from your own text and FAQ). Starter $5: 100 conversations, website import. Pro $19: 1,000 conversations, no branding, team members, webhooks, API and MCP. Business $49: 5,000 conversations. +500 conversations for $10. No seats, no per-resolution fees. See pricing.

Pros. A whole team on Pro costs $19, not $25 to $99 per person. AI answers every chat within the plan, resolved or not, at no extra charge. When a person is needed, you get an alert in Telegram, Slack, Discord or email and can take over from Telegram or the inbox (handoff). Leads land in a Leads list with CSV export or a webhook to Zapier, Make or HubSpot (leads docs).

Cons. Not a staffed live chat suite: no proactive campaigns, visitor tracking dashboard, routing rules or supervision. No Shopify catalog in chat. No native CRM integration (webhook only).

Choose it if you want AI to handle most chats and qualify leads, with a person stepping in occasionally.

2. tawk.to

What it is. Free live chat with paid add-ons.

Pricing (add-on pricing). Free core product with no seat fees. Remove Branding $39/month ($348/year). AI Assist: free Hobby (100 AI messages), Growth $29 (1,000), Business $99 (5,000), Enterprise $399 (20,000), per the AI Assist billing guide.

Pros. Unbeatable price for human-staffed chat. Hired agents from $1/hour.

Cons. Dated interface, AI billed per message, add-ons bought per website. More in our tawk.to alternatives guide.

Choose it if you want to cut the per-seat bill to zero and keep humans answering.

3. Crisp

What it is. A shared inbox with live chat, AI agent and omnichannel messaging.

Pricing (Crisp pricing). Free (2 seats, no AI), Mini $45 (4 seats), Essentials $95 (10 seats, ~450 AI conversations), Plus $295 (20 seats, ~1,350). Extra seats $10.

Pros. Flat workspace price with seats included: 10 agents on Essentials cost $95 total, not $950.

Cons. Fewer sales features than LiveChat. See Crisp alternatives.

Choose it if you have a team of 4 to 10 and per-seat pricing is the problem.

4. Tidio

What it is. Live chat and helpdesk with the Lyro AI agent and Flows automation.

Pricing (Tidio pricing). Free (50 human conversations), Starter $29, Growth from $59; 10 seats on self-serve plans. Lyro from $39/month (50 AI conversations) to $700 (1,000).

Pros. Seats included, good for stores, Shopify order status in chat.

Cons. Lyro costs about $0.70 per AI conversation at volume. See Tidio alternatives.

Choose it if you run an online store with a small team.

5. Zendesk

What it is. A full helpdesk with chat, email, voice and an AI agent.

Pricing (Zendesk pricing). Support Team $25/agent/month ($19 yearly), Suite Team $69 ($55 yearly), Suite Professional $149 ($115 yearly). Automated resolutions: 5 per agent per month on Team plans, 10 on Professional; extra at $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. 14-day trial.

Pros. The standard for multi-channel support at scale: ticketing, SLAs, reporting, a large app marketplace.

Cons. More expensive per seat and per AI resolution than LiveChat; heavy for a small site.

Choose it if chat is one channel in a bigger support operation.

6. Intercom

What it is. A helpdesk with the Fin AI agent built in.

Pricing (Intercom pricing). Seats $29, $85 or $132 per month (annual billing). Fin $0.99 per outcome.

Pros. Strong AI agent, deep workflows; unresolved AI chats are free.

Cons. Seats plus outcomes grow with traffic. Intercom publishes full pricing.

Choose it if you want a modern helpdesk with AI and have the budget.

7. Zoho SalesIQ

What it is. Live chat with visitor tracking and lead scoring, tied into Zoho CRM.

Pricing (Zoho SalesIQ pricing, billed yearly). Free (3 operators, 100 sessions), Basic $7, Professional $12.75, Enterprise $20 per operator per month. Answer Bot on Enterprise.

Pros. LiveChat-style visitor tracking and lead scoring at a fraction of the per-seat price.

Cons. AI answering is on the top plan; best inside the Zoho stack.

Choose it if you want LiveChat’s sales features for less and use Zoho.

How to choose a LiveChat alternative

  1. Decide whether chat is staffed. If people answer all day, compare per-seat cost: Crisp, Tidio, Zoho SalesIQ and tawk.to all cost less than LiveChat for 3+ agents. If nobody watches the chat, pick an AI-first tool.
  2. Count AI resolutions you actually need. At about $1 each beyond the allowance, 500 AI-resolved chats a month on LiveChat or Intercom cost $250 to $500 extra. Flat plans don’t grow that way.
  3. Keep the sales features you use. If proactive campaigns and cart recovery drive revenue, LiveChat or Zoho SalesIQ are the closest matches.
  4. Test with real traffic for a week. Every tool here has a free plan or trial. For small teams, our chatbot for small business page covers what to set up first.

Moving off LiveChat

  • Export chat transcripts and contacts before your subscription ends; Essential keeps only 60 days of history.
  • Move canned responses into the new tool’s saved replies, or into the AI’s knowledge base as FAQ entries.
  • Replace the LiveChat script with the new snippet. Feedbot installs with one script tag, Google Tag Manager or a React component (install guide).
  • Rebuild proactive campaigns last, after you see how the new tool performs.
